I didn't go to work for two days last week--felt stressed out and sickly. You know that kind of fever that felt like it was locked up inside of you? That's what I had. Wasn't able to do the gym thing that week, darnit.

Shrek the Third could've been the perfect stress reliever but, like Spiderman 3, didn't match the smooth storytelling of its two predecessors. I liken the third green ogre movie to a gag show, half-anticipating the next punchline to come along. The only two worth-my-money moments involved Pinocchio and Snow White.

I enjoyed David Fincher's Zodiac, though. It was a tad too long, and I was only able to understand about 20 to 30 percent of the whole whodunnit discussion. An underlying theme had something to do with being KSP (kulang sa pansin), wherein the serial killer succeeded in getting everyone's attention, as opposed to Jake Gyllenhaal's character who passionately felt he could help solve the mystery despite his being an editorial cartoonist, thus oftentimes relegated to the sidelines. This parallel could've been an interesting angle to explore, hinted by the movie's tagline "There's more than one way to lose your life to a killer," but most of the film's running time was devoted instead to sleuthing and suspense.

(In case you didn't already know, David Fincher also directed Panic Room, Fight Club and Se7en. Plus, he directed some of my favorite Madonna videos--Vogue, Express Yourself, Bad Girl, and Oh Father. Maybe Fincher can get Madonna in one of his future films.)

philosophical bastard... Nothing, however, beats the oh-so-bland Happily Never After, :-) I'm sooo looking forward to Ratatouille, though. The trailers were simply magical. :-)

Pinocchio rocketh!!
